On Twitter yesterday I saw a tweet that announced that Market Leverage “wants to make you a VIP at Affiliate Convention.” All you had to do to enter is fill out a brief survey to help them better understand what you wanted in a network.

Well, I actually WON the prize! Pretty cool!

It was a nice surprise because my wife and I were actually considering going to Amelia Island for a few nights instead. Winning the VIP prize made our decision to stick with our plans to attend Affiliate Convention much easier.

It should be a fun convention. And like most of you, I attend these conventions mostly for the networking and the parties not the sessions. I might go to a few session but I usually find most of them lacking in new information I can use. It’s not really because of the speakers. They are usually good speaker lineups. It’s just a fact that you won’t be hearing any big “secrets” during the sessions. I find most of the information common sense or intended for those fairly new to affiliate marketing. You’re much more likely to pick up some better tips during the dinners and parties.

We’ll probably be going out with the Market Leverage crew and guests a couple of the nights. We will be going to the Affiliate Bash on Wednesday. We won’t be in town yet for the epic Wickedfire/Shoemoney Mile High party on the 16th (actually, I had my dates wrong. It’s on the 17th and we will be in town). But my wife isn’t really into the naked boobie parties. We like to turn these “work” deductable conventions into little vacations as well.
